Judith McKay Speaks at Ontario Science Centre Launch
On July 26th , Judith McKay, DuPont Canada’s Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel was guest speaker at the Ontario Science Centre (OSC) to help mark the opening of the next phase of experience spaces for the Agents of Change project. These experience spaces complete the area known as the Weston Family Innovation Centre.
Guests previewed and participated in many of the 50 new “experience” areas, which feature innovative new environments that challenge the human mind. The experience spaces created through the project target young people ages 12-23 – a demographic that OSC has found often loses interest in science and innovation.
Judith spoke to an audience of 200 including The Honourable Caroline Di Cocco, Minister of Culture; and Galen Weston, President of The W. Garfield Weston Foundation:
" We at DuPont, are proud to have joined the Science Centre at the start of this journey, way back in 2002. We listened to Jennifer Martin and her team describe their ideas and concepts. We shared our experience and perspectives on how innovation happens at DuPont. This evolved in to what we now call a Knowledge partnership, based on a common aim of helping to contribute to a culture of innovation in Canada. This partnership has helped to shape the experience spaces before you today. "
To recognize DuPont’s unique contribution as Knowledge Partner and sponsor, two science school labs found directly above the new experience spaces were named at the event, "The DuPont Canada Labs of Innovation". The experience spaces target youth from age 12 to early 20’s, a group that OSC has found often lose interest in science and innovation. Guests at the event previewed and participated in many of the 50 new experiences.
