Kelly Collver and Kim Heaman, a team from Corunna, Ontario, has been awarded a 2006 DuPont Volunteer Recognition award for their work as wish grantors for the Make A Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario.  The team arranges visits with wish children and their families to obtain each child’s most cherished wishes. 

Supporting the volunteer spirit of its employees worldwide, DuPont announced it is honoring 182 individuals and teams as 2006 DuPont Volunteer Recognition recipients.  Established in 1998, this program recognizes employees who are exceptional volunteers within their communities.  A USD 1,000 grant is donated to the non-profit organization for which each employee or team performed community service.

DuPont Senior Vice President Stacey Mobley said, “The work done by our employee volunteers is critically important to the vitality of the communities in which we operate.  These ‘community ambassadors’ create an environment of trust that is an integral part of our growth strategy and supportive of our aspiration to be welcomed as a good corporate neighbor.”

Grants of USD 1,000 to 182 non-profit organizations will be distributed by local leadership at celebratory events in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.  “Our employees are truly committed to making their communities better places to live and work.  They coordinate sports programs for disabled children, work in soup kitchens, build homes for the homeless, safeguard the public as volunteer firefighters and mentor youngsters who need positive role models.  Each DuPont Volunteer Recognition honoree selflessly shares his or her time and special talents,” noted Mobley.
