DuPont Announces Growth Investment for Zodiaq® in Québec

THETFORD MINES, Québec, February 22, 2008 - DuPont announced a multi-million dollar investment today in its manufacturing site at Thetford Mines, Québec, which produces DuPont™ Zodiaq® quartz surfaces for the residential and commercial markets. The Québec government also is helping to fund the project.

White, president -- DuPont Canada. “We will make equipment enhancements that will enable us to further increase the size of the slabs and improve quality of the slabs we deliver, which will improve the yields during fabrication and deliver a better finished product to consumers to meet the increasing market needs of our customers around the world.”

DuPont™ Zodiaq®, an advanced composite material made of quartz and other materials, is used in commercial and residential countertops, worktops, vanity tops and walls. It is particularly useful in applications that demand resistance to staining and its nonporous surface does not support the growth of mold or mildew. The material is GREENGUARD certified, ensuring that it complies with strict criteria for indoor air quality.
