MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, March 1, 2011 – DuPont will be moving its Canadian corporate headquarters to a new, five-storey, 125,000-square-foot office on Minnesota Court in northwest Mississauga during August 2012. Construction of the new building is expected to begin in April this year.
“This move marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for DuPont in Mississauga and Canada,” said Mike Oxley, DuPont Canada’s president and chief financial officer. “The new building will provide us with the features, flexibility and efficiencies we need to facilitate the continued successful growth of our business in Canada.”
The new office will be a Canada Green Building Council LEED Silver Certified building (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), consistent with DuPont’s commitment to sustainability. A number of DuPont’s innovative products for the building and construction market will be incorporated into the office design to showcase their value in use.
The location of the new building, next to Highway 401, will also help to maintain the familiar high profile of the DuPont Oval logo in the community. DuPont’s current Canadian corporate headquarters has been a Mississauga business office landmark since it first opened in 1987.
The new building will be owned by a major Canadian pension fund client of Carttera Private Equities Inc., which is based in Toronto. Carttera will be the development manager and leasing manager for the project. Quadrangle Architects Limited is performing the architectural work, and the project manager is TAC Projects Inc.
