A safe working environment can help companies increase their bottom lines; However, the safety measures in many industries in Malaysia are still unsatisfactory.
On average, every day in Malaysia, two people die and 221 people are injured due to workplace accidents. This is especially so in the manufacturing sector, which comprises 47% of all workplace accidents, followed by the construction, transportation, agriculture and aviation sector. As a result, insurance companies end up forking out RM7 billion in compensation every year.
