Surgutneftegaz Chooses DuPont Safety Standards
One of the major Russian oil and gas companies Surgutneftegaz has signed an agreement on Nomex® protective apparel supply in early 2007. As a result of a thorough selection among suppliers of workwear and protective apparel, Energocontract company was announced the winner of the tender. Energocontract has been engaged in development, production and supply of Nomex® thermal protective apparel in Russia since 1998.
Nomex® entirely meets the high safety standards and technical requirements established for the protective apparel in Russian oil and gas industry. Its heat- and flame-resistant and antistatic properties, crude oil and petroleum resistance provide protection for those who work in the toughest and the most hazardous segments.
“Today the Russian market of thermal-protective materials grows more and more competitive. The fact that Nomex® protective apparel won the tender run by Surgutneftegaz, one of the major Russian oil and gas companies, is the confirmation that DuPont Personal Protection has made another step towards conquering the region’s key segment,” Sergii Gorban, head of DuPont Personal Protection Eastern and Central Europe comments on the deal.
According to Alexander Bolshunov, Chairman of the FPG Energocontract Board, “The fact that we won Surgutneftegaz’ tender proves that major oil and gas companies in Russia are strongly oriented towards protecting their workers via using state-of-the-art personal protection.”
