On the 8-9th of November 2007 DuPont Safety Resources team has led in the Moscow Customer Interaction Center the launch of the project “Integrated Safety Organization Structure Development” for OAO “Alpha Cement”. OAO “Alpha Cement” is the Russian representative of the Holcim Group, the world`s second largest cement producer. The task team consists includes the representatives of “Alpha Cement” head office as well as the representatives of the management of its production units – OAO “VolskCement” and OAO “Schurovsky Cement”.

The event consisted of two parts and included 1,5 day  task team induction training and kick-off meeting. The realization of the project in its whole will take 4 months, in the course of which DSRB team in cooperation  with the client`s task team will develop a model of the Integrated Safety Organization Structure for Holcim in Russia, and will prepare the final edition of the safety organization standard, guidelines and implementation plan. 

The purpose of the overall safety organization is to mobilize all available talent in the interest of safety, health, and environmental protection.  It does not in any way relieve individual members of the line organization of their safety responsibilities; rather it provides additional resources upon which they can draw to execute these responsibilities more effectively.

Tatyana Shevchenko, DSRB project manager, commented: "The primary reason behind a corporate safety program is to provide the means through which corporate officers’ responsibility for employee safety is continuously and effectively carried out. Corporate management provides the organization, structure, and authority for a safety program. A goal of this project with Alfa Cement is to establish an integrated safety organization that creates a basis for continuous improvement and excellent performance as a foundation for a new safety culture."

DuPont Personal Protection business unit also took part in the event, provided the seminar participants with an original and useful gift – chemical protection coveralls made of Tyvek® innovative material.
