In February, 2008 DuPont celebrated the anniversary of DuPont-Khimprom enterprise. The company became 10 years old – an important milestone, providing an opportunity to sum up the results and to set up further long-term strategic plans.

DuPont-Khimprom history starts on the 16th od december 1997, when representatives of joint stock company "Khimprom" and "DuPont Overseas Operations Inc." agreed upon foundation of closed joint stock society "DuPont Khimprom". On the 13th of February 1998 State Registration Chamber at the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation registered closed joint stock society (ZAO) "DuPont Khimprom". The purpose of this foundation was to create best-quality crop-protecting agents at the lowest production cost and with due attention to safety, health protection and environment.

Today DuPont-Khimprom is a fast-growing dynamic enterprise, which supplies innovative crop protection products to the Russian agricultural companies. DuPont-Khimprom further development goals are closely tied to the Crop Protection strategic priority of diversifying its sulfonyl urea (SU) business by offering blends - mixes of 2 or more SU's in a certain proportion. This allows to address the customers' needs more effectively - with the same quantity of product, they will now be able to control broader spectrum of weeds. From the technology perspective, this means some important changes, like switching to paste extrusion method of granulation which is already in place at DPK . By being part of the blending strategy, DPK will not only grow production volumes for the served countries, but also expand geographically, exporting to new countries. Overall, this growth strategy has a potential to double current volumes at DPK.

Pronouncing the speech at the event John Shmorhun, DuPont Regional Director, Eastern Europe, congratulated the employees and thanked them for their input to DuPont success in 2007. “10 years of constant development, production volume growth and stability - all this is the testimony of the success of our enterprise. But we should not fix upon it. Today DuPont-Khimprom continues its successful development, providing a large percentage of the growth for the Agriculture and Nutrition platform in our region.
