The DuPont joint venture plans to supply automotive coatings to foreign manufacturers in Russia

In April 2008, DuPont and French automotive manufacturer Renault agreed to start supplying automotive coatings for Renault plants in Russia with DuPont-Russian Coatings products by the end of 2009. The product mix of cathode electro coats, primers and basecoats shall be delivered to the new plant of Renault in Moscow which manufactures Logan, a popular car in Russia and Eastern Europe. In 2009 upon completion of expansion and renewal of automotive production in Moscow, Renault plant intends to manufacture around 160 000 cars a year and become the second largest automotive manufacturer in Russia after AvtoVAZ.
Earlier DuPont through DuPont-Russian Coatings LLC had already won the tender to supply  automotive waterborne coatings (Blue Ocean project) to General Motors company. The localization of coatings for the GM in Yaroslavl is planned for 2008.
