Four new colours of CorianĀ® at Arch Moscow 2008

The Certificate for the best exposition goes to the extraordinary group that has united renowned Russian architects with the well-known design material.

13th International exhibition ARCH MOSCOW – 2008 took place in the Central House of Artists, May 27 - June 1. First prize for the exposition in the commercial sector was awarded to the installation jointly created by the renowned Moscow architects Vlad Savinkin and Vladimir Kuzmin and DuPont™ Corian®. Their booth was truly outstanding -   “the waves” made of multicolored sheets of DuPont™ Corian®, bent in different directions filled the booth space, demonstrating visual lightness, freedom of creating different shapes and fantastic features of this material.

Corian®  - the unique material for designers and architects, created by DuPont, has limits to the fantasy.  It can be thermoformed when heated at certain temperature. Due to this property, Corian® can take practically any shape.
Another distinct feature of Corian® is its unique texture that allows the light go through material making it ideal choice for light design applications.

New colours of DuPont ™ Corian® from the “Illumination” 2008 Series with improved translucency were used for creation of this installation, presented by the architects at this year’s Arch Moscow show. A tone called Glacier Ice provides traslucency combined with an even paler white option; four other “Ice” options include: Mint Ice – a cool hint of green that brightens to rich spearmint when lit; Lime Ice - a delicate citrus hue that deepens to chartreuse when lit;   Strawberry Ice - a pale suggestion of pink that turns candy bright when lit; Blueberry Ice - a light touch of lavender that strengthens to berry blue when lit.

The Design Group of Vlad Savinkin and Vladimir Kuzmin represents the architectural trend with dominating design line. For the founders of this Group, architecture itself is an instrument for design of material medium and organizing of space. The creation of something new from the spirit of place, spirit of time, analogues and prototypes. The architects combine old and new technologies addressing the tradition through the completely new systems.  And this modernity, originality and creative approach are the keys to the success of this Design team. Over the years of its existence, the Design group was awarded with many prizes and titles.
