On June 09, 2008 Dupont Science and Technologies LLC conducted a workshop “Architectural and Interior Design Solutions using Innovative products from DuPont”. Key architects and designers from Yekaterinburg and the whole Urals participated in the workshop. Boris Ukhov, SafetyGlass Project Manager and Alexey Tishenko, Building Innovation Representative presented DuPont products.
New modern construction and interior decoration are the top priorities for the building Industry in the Urals and Yekaterinburg, especially on the verge of Shanghai Organisation for Cooperation Summit in 2009. This is why both presentations were of great interest for the Urals specialists: the “Safety Glass  SentryGlas® Plus и SentryGlas® Expressions solutions from DuPont for architectural and design works” presentation and the “Architectural solutions and interior design using innovation materials Corian® и Zodiaq® from DuPont” show.
Safety and security is an important aspect of new edifice construction. “Thanks to the use of new construction and design technologies in safety glazing of facades and load bearing structures, as well as the use of totally ecologically clean materials for interior design which help to create spaces limited only by an architect’s imagination DuPont helps to drastically improve people’s life from both safety and comfort points of view”, said Boris Ukhov, SafetyGlass Project Manager and Head of DuPont St. Petersburg Office.
The same day DuPont top managers from Russia (John Shmorhun, Maxim Shakhov and Urals Representative Sergey Korkin) met representatives from Sverdlovsk region Mr. M.Maximov (Economics Minister), Mr. A.Krupkin (Deputy Minister for building and architecture), Mr. Korneev (Innovation Technologies Dpt), R.Shamsutdinov (Foreign Affairs Dpt Chief) and Mr. Kritsky (Deputy Mayor of Yekaterinburg for Constrcution and Architecture). They have discussed possible ways of cooperation between DuPont and Sverdlovsk region Enterprises. Regional and Yekaterinburg city authorities have appreciated the prospects of DuPont products application. “Sverdlovsk region and Yekaterinburg are among the most developing regions of Russia. Technological innovations support from regional and city authorities can assure that the city will become a leading industrial and cultural place of the country in the nearest future”, said John Shmorhun, LLC DuPont Science and Technologies Director.

This is already the second major DuPont exposition in Yekatyerinburg this year. On the 13th of February DuPont ran a workshop dedicated to innovative solutions for road construction. The workshop resulted in local road authorities decision to use DuPont material Elvaloy® for road construction and renovation.
