Energy reform in Russia - DuPont captures opportunities at Electro 2008 in Moscow

DuPont Energy Solutions has seized new opportunities to promote DuPont insulation and transformer solutions in Eastern Europe. Among One DuPont efforts in 2008 was the participation in Electro 2008 – a major electrical engineering and energy saving forum and exhibition – that recently took place in Moscow. This year, DuPont's stand featured its internationally acknowledged solutions for motors and transformers: Nomex® paper, Voltatex® and Kapton® insulation solutions, as well as ReliatraN® technology for transformers. DuPont solutions help to create better, safer and more reliable equipment for consumers in Russia and the CIS.

As Russia is experiencing an energy and utilities reform, huge government and private investments are being raised for the modernization of power generation and distribution facilities. According to the RF Industry and Energy Minister Andrey Dementyev, already in 2007 30bn rubles (850m Euros) has been allocated from the federal budget for investment into the electrical energy industry. This money will be spent for the state to gain direct participation in the main Russian energy companies.

"DuPont sees high potential and opportunities in what the Russian market is offering at the moment. It is important to make sure that we capture all opportunities in 2008 and in the nearest future. Today we are already building the basement to support DuPont strategic growth plans for 2015", said Alexander Ivanov, Team Leader Eastern Europe for Advanced Fiber Systems – High Performance Solutions (AFS-HPS).
