SevGOK and CGOK of the Metinvest Group improve the safety management system jointly with DuPont
OAO SevGOK (Northern Iron Ore Mining And Processing Enterprise) and OAO CGOK (Central And Processing Enterprise), which are part of the Metinvest Group, launched safety management improvement project meant to reduce on-the-job injury rate, to develop safe work skills and an informed approach to occupational safety. The project is run in partnership with DuPont, a global leader in health, safety and environment.
Under the project to be completed within 7 months the existing system of labor safety and health will be audited, strategic vision of goals and objectives for an occupational safety program will be laid and confirmed, skills of the managers and safety specialists will be developed, a system of the project outcomes monitoring will be established. It is the first step on the journey of improvement with the main purpose to build a foundation for further extending of the Implementation of change management, apply &
integrate processes from Step 1 and measure & reinforce progress
"A successful enterprise is primarily the one with superbly organized work processes excluding on-the-job injuries. Our main goal is to rule out accidents. That's why we strive for efficient solutions ensuring safety and health of personnel. High standards set by DuPont will help us master a new philosophy," stated the honorary president of the Central and Northern ore-dressing and processing enterprises Alexander Vilkul at the presentation of the project.
"It's the first time that we carry out such a full-scale project in Ukraine, and hopefully, based on the knowledge and practices, jointly with specialists from SevGOK and CGOK we shall together build a new platform that will increase corporate industrial safety at the enterprises," observed Govert Griffioen, Director for DSR EMEA Operations, DuPont.
