Introducing DuPont™ Vespel® Polyimide Parts and Shapes Innovation for the Glass Container Industry
Wilmington, USA, Oct. 12, 2009 DuPont introducing innovation for the Glass Container Industry.
The DuPont™ Vespel® family of products delivers improved glass contact part life, reduced damage to the glass and cuts costs in the glass container industry. These benefits are delivered through greatly increased wear resistance, low thermal conductivity, reduced oil absorption and improved impact resistance. Vespel® provides superior performance in either short or long production runs and in low or high production line speeds.
DuPontTM Vespel® Glass Handling Technology offers the high-temperature resistance required to handle hot container glass but with superior strength (less brittle), increased durability, less oil absorption and less damage of glass. This enables increased plant uptime, higher quality bottles and lower operation costs.
Vespel® Glass Handling Technology offers custom-made parts/components and shapes in two different material grades: Vespel® SP-22 & Vespel® SCP-5050 for glass container applications, including take-out inserts, push/sweep-out fingers, guides, stacker bar inserts and dead plates.
“The DuPont™ Vespel® family of products provides a step change in plant reliability for the glass container industry and delivers substantial cost and performance advantages over graphite and metals,” said René Garza, Vespel® global marketing manager, Energy and Material Handling. “The proprietary material science of DuPont coupled with expert technical support and service represents a comprehensive solution for hot glass handling applications.”
