Productivity Improvements Drive Global Growth
At a recent meeting with investors, DuPont Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Richard Goodmanson described key actions the company is taking to accelerate productivity improvement.
“We plan to deliver over USD 1.7 billion in new savings from continuing productivity improvement programs at manufacturing plants, throughout supply chains and in business support functions – providing a mechanism for funding growth investments,” Richard said.
From 2003-2007, DuPont reduced fixed costs as a percent of sales by seven points, Richard explained.
“Savings are going to come from DuPont Operations and support functions,” Richard said. “Productivity becomes a way of life as these programs get real traction.”
