Ellen Recognizes Employees at Annual Meeting of Stockholders

Chad Holliday and Ellen KullmanAt the Annual Meeting of Stockholders yesterday in Wilmington, Del., DuPont CEO Ellen Kullman discussed a range of topics, including the company’s financial performance, core values, market-driven science and actions the company is taking to meet its objectives.

Ellen also recognized four employees for their contributions, including:

  • George Lahm who led the team that invented Rynaxypyr® insect control products, which launched last year. Rynaxypyr® optimizes a plant’s potential to produce a high-quality, high-yielding harvest.
  • Jeff Jung, Katherine Meyer and Rich Young represented the team of employees who developed Nomex® on Demand™ -- the first smart-fiber technology that protects lives.

DuPont Chair Chad Holliday conducted the meeting, which was attended by more than 1,000 people including stockholders, the Board of Directors, employees who are stockholders, and members of the media.

“We have emphasized both internally and externally during this economic downturn that economic turmoil should not cause us to lose sight of who we are and what we do.  DuPont is a science company and we practice market-driven science,” Ellen said at the meeting.  “This means we listen to markets, customers and end-users and then respond with products and services that bring the power of our science to bear on solving their problems and responding to their needs.”
