DuPont Chairman Speaks Out on Climate Change Project
DuPont Chair
Chad Holliday appears in a new
video featuring experts serving on the America’s Climate Choices committee and panels.
The America’s Climate Choices project was launched by the National Academies in response to a request from the U.S. Congress. The project is a suite of activities that examines the issues associated with global climate change, including science and technology challenges, and provides advice on actions and strategies. Reports are produced by committees of the nation's top scientists, engineers, and other experts who are brought together to address scientific and technical aspects of climate change.
The video takes an in-depth look at the process through which these experts will come to consensus, and highlights how crucial the choices we face now will be for decades to come.
“We’re trying to answer the question about what can Congress actually do [about climate change],” said Chad, who is a member of the committee. “What we’re doing is taking all the work that’s there … and putting it in some usable form we can communicate, and that really hasn’t been done. Nobody’s looked at it comprehensively. That’s been something from our business perspective that we think is needed – especially by an organization that clearly doesn’t have an agenda.”
