History Channel Features Pioneer Hi-Bred
The History Channel's Modern Marvels show recently featured DuPont business Pioneer Hi-Bred as part of an episode on corn.
The show's producers visited Pioneer facilities in Johnston, Iowa, and interviewed Dean Oestreich, DuPont vice president and Pioneer chairman; Bill Niebur, vice president, DuPont Crop Genetics Research and Development; and Jon Lightner, Pioneer research
coordinator. They also filmed Pioneer research labs, greenhouses and plots.
The show focused on corn as a vegetable, cereal grain and commodity. It illustrated how seed corn is developed and produced at Pioneer and then converted into fuel at VeraSun Energy in Charles City, Iowa.
