Volunteers from a French charity recently went to Senegal for several projects - including providing toothbrushes, toothpaste and oral care tips to more than 100 children.
The activity was made possible through the collaboration of DuPont Filaments and TRISA® -- one of the world's leading producers of oral hygiene, hair care and body care brushes. The Swiss company is an important business partner of DuPont, as TRISA® uses DuPont™ Tynex® monofilaments for the bristles of its toothbrushes.
"This is a modest contribution to public health," said Philip Pfenniger, board member at TRISA®. "We are glad to provide help and support where we can."
"The TRISA® Travel Kit was the best tool we could have provided since people in these remote villages do not have easy access to these items," said Clémence Altwegg, one of the volunteers. "Also, the toothbrushes can be conveniently closed when they're not being used, so they can be preserved longer and are more hygienic."
