DuPont Robotics Teams Win Regional Competition

Teams #365 and # 84 are introduced at the competition.

The DuPont-sponsored U.S. high school robotics teams #365 The Miracle Workerz (based in Wilmington, Del.) and #84 Chuck (based in Towanda, Pa.), recently partnered with #341 Miss Daisy (based in Wissahickon, Pa.) to win a regional robotics competition in Philadelphia, Pa.   Another DuPont-sponsored team, #316 The Lunatecs  (based in Salem, N.J.), was awarded the General Motors Industrial Design Award at the competition.

The teams are part of the FIRST  (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) program, which allows engineers and scientists to mentor high school students and promote an interest in pursuing careers in engineering and technology.

“This program gives engineers from DuPont and other corporations the opportunity to inspire and mentor tomorrow’s workforce,” said John Larock, Miracle Workerz team coordinator and staffing manager, DuPont Engineering.  “Their keen intelligence, inquisitiveness and enthusiasm, combined with our experience and knowledge, lead to success.  We hope to encourage these talented students to pursue careers in science and technology.”
