Consumers Prefer New Solae Product in Taste Tests

Recently, Solae launched another breakthrough soy ingredient —SUPRO® XF – at the 2009 IFT Annual Meeting and Food Expo.

SUPRO® XF is a soy protein isolate that delivers the flavor performance, mouthfeel and nutritional benefit needed for high protein beverage applications in sports performance, weight management and clinical nutrition segments.

“SUPRO® XF is unique in that it can take food products to new levels of soy protein content and deliver great taste at the same time,” says Jon McIntyre, senior vice president—technology and innovation, Solae. “It provides exceptional flavor and functional performance in addition to nutritional benefits for high-protein beverages.”

Solae’s sensory data shows that a sports nutrition beverage formulated with SUPRO® XF is preferred by consumers 2:1 over the leading commercial brand.  This was similarly proven at Solae’s IFT booth, where a taste challenge was conducted with attendees, showing in the photo to the right that 62.5% of consumers preferred the beverage formulated with SUPRO® XF, while only 37.5% preferred the leading dairy commercial brand.

SUPRO® XF is currently available to customers in the United States.
