The BMW Sauber F1 Team raced in the Turkish Grand Prix on Sunday at the Istanbul Speed Park.  For the first time this season, the BMW Sauber F1 was unable to fully match the pace of the front-runners. Nonetheless, Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld finished fourth and fifth respectively, thereby adding another nine World Championship points to the team's tally.

During the Turkish Grand Prix, the first BMW Sauber F1 Team Pit Lane Park (PLP) of the 2008 season also took place.  DuPont hosted the "Safety & Science" garage - a garage dedicated to materials and safety in F1.  All of the materials and expertise supplied in the garage are provided by DuPont.  A live demonstration featured a device with flames and temperature sensors to test and measure the protective performance of a F1 race suit made with DuPont™ Nomex®.

"The partnership with the BMW F1 Sauber team is a great opportunity for us to show everyone how DuPont can deliver safety through putting its science to work," said Murat Kocaoglu, transportation leader, DuPont Turkey, Middle East & North Africa.  "BMW will continue to include the Pit Lane Parks, as well as the DuPont "Safety & Science" garage, at six other locations throughout the 2008 F1 season.
