DuPont is donating products to the China Red Cross Foundation to assist with relief efforts related to the May 12 earthquake in the Sichuan province of China that has left more than 12,000 people dead and more than 26,000 injured.

About 20,000 pairs of gloves made with DuPont™ Kevlar® and 3,500 pieces of DuPont™ Tyvek® and DuPont™ Tychem® coveralls are being donated to address one of the most urgent needs of the rescue operations - protecting rescue professionals who are working in the affected area.

"When trouble occurs at one spot, help comes from all quarters," said Doug Muzyka, president, DuPont Greater China, in a letter to employees. "I hope you take pride in this example of how our science and technology brings real value to people, especially in the tragic situation in Sichuan."

No DuPont employees in China were injured as a result of the earthquake, and there was no damage to DuPont facilities, including a manufacturing site in Chengdu City.
