DuPont recently extended an agreement to serve as a sponsor of the Collision Repair Technology Program at the Pennsylvania College (Penn College) of Technology in Williamsport, Pa.  Penn College’s Collision Repair Technology program is one of the oldest automotive repair programs in the United States.

Under the renewed agreement, DuPont will donate liquid coatings and its patented technology Color Proofing system for instructional use in Penn College’s collision repair labs.  DuPont also will provide mixing room equipment and training for faculty members, among other support.

The economic environment has been tough on the automotive industry and that could have impact on the program.  According to Colin Williamson, dean of the School of Transportation Technologies at Penn College, “Without such partners, our students would lack the exposure to the latest paint technology.  With the help of DuPont we can graduate an employee who can be productive immediately.”

“We are thrilled to work with the college in the development of their curriculum and to collaborate to bring the latest and best-in-class technologies to students who will be the future leaders in the collision industry,” said Jim Evans, U.S. training manager for DuPont Refinish.
