Four-time NASCAR® Cup Series Champion Jeff Gordon raced in the Checker Auto Parts 500 presented by Pennzoil at the Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Ariz.  Jeff placed 10th.  He currently is in 2nd place in the Race for the Nextel Cup, which is a 10-race series with 12 drivers.  One race remains.
