DuPont Pakistan recently organized a community program at Dharki and Multan to improve vision health care through a free outreach eye clinic for underprivileged rural residents in surrounding communities. More than 600 patients benefited from the clinic’s services, which included professional eye examinations, refraction services and free medication.

“More than 1.5 million Pakistanis are blind in both eyes.  Reaching out to our communities is our shared responsibility,” said Arshad Shafiq, general manager, DuPont Pakistan.   “Our core values guide us every day and our employees overwhelmingly helped with the clinics.”

DuPont Pakistan conducted the program successfully last year at three primary locations, treating more than 1,000 patients. The project has been supported by DuPont Pakistan and by the 2007 DuPont Community Fund.
