Participants at a recent Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) conference voted to name
DuPont™ Cerenol® renewably sourced polyol as a 2009 winner of the CPI Polyurethane Innovation Award. Cerenol® polyols are a family of engineered
renewably sourced polyether diols that serve as a soft segment ingredient for polyurethanes. CPI is part of the
American Chemistry Council.
“We were thrilled to be nominated and even more excited that Cerenol® received this award,” said Ray Miller, global business manager, DuPont Cerenol®. “It performs as well, and in many cases, better than petrochemical-based premium polyether diols. At the same time, it offers environmental benefits that help our customers reduce their environmental footprints.”
A panel of five judges who represent a cross section of polyurethane experience and knowledge nominates prospective winners. At the final conference session, attendees voted for the applications they thought showed the most innovative use of polyurethanes for each category.
