DuPont’s Presence in Mexico

DuPont was established in Mexico in 1925 as Mexican Explosives Company -- a joint venture with Dinamita Hercules. This was the first DuPont investment outside of the U.S.

DuPont Mexico has about 3,000 employees located at 10 sites and five R&D centers in Mexico City, Altamira, Tlalnepantla, Lerma, Ocoyoacac, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Culiacan and Santa Clara.

DuPont Mexico expects to continue to grow at a double digit rate and increase its market penetration in industries including agriculture, coatings, oil and gas and safety.   New projects are being developed -- as a part of the Emerging Markets Growth Initiative -- that have great potential and meet the needs of local and regional customers.
