Linda J. Fisher Named DuPont Vice President & Chief Sustainability Officer Former EPA Deputy Administrator to lead DuPont Environment and Health programs

WILMINGTON, Del.,  June 23, 2004  —

DuPont today announced the appointment of Linda J. Fisher to the position of vice president & chief sustainability officer, effective July 12th. She previously served as Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from 2001-2003.

Fisher, 51, will have responsibility for advancing DuPont's progress in achieving sustainable growth; DuPont environmental and health programs; the company's product stewardship programs; and global regulatory affairs. She will also join the DuPont Health Advisory Board, the DuPont Biotechnology Advisory Panel and will serve as a liaison to the Environmental Policy Committee of the DuPont Board of Directors. Fisher will have offices in Wilmington and Washington, D.C.

Fisher, an attorney, has served in a number of key leadership positions in the EPA in addition to being Deputy Administrator. She was also vice president of Government Affairs for Monsanto and counsel with the Washington, D.C., office of the law firm, Latham & Watkins.

She holds an undergraduate degree from Miami University of Ohio, a master's of business administration degree from George Washington University, and a law degree from Ohio State University.
