DuPont Declares Force Majeure for Ethylene Copolymers Business As Result Of Hurricane Rita
DuPont today declared "force majeure" for its ethylene copolymers business. The DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers manufacturing operations and distribution centers in Orange, Texas, were significantly impacted by Hurricane Rita. While structurally secure, the sites are particularly impacted by the availability of purchased utilities, raw materials and supporting infrastructure.
DuPont is actively assessing the situation and is engaging with local authorities to determine when restart of the facilities can occur. The company is working closely with its customers to lessen the impact on their businesses.
