Francine Shaw Succeeds John R. (Jack) Lewis as Head of DuPont Performance Elastomers Subsidiary

DuPont Performance Elastomers (DPE), a wholly-owned DuPont subsidiary, today announced that John R. “Jack” Lewis, president and CEO, will retire April 1, 2006 after 40 years of total service with DPE and DuPont.  He will be succeeded by Francine C. Shaw, vice president – DuPont Corporate Operations, who accepts employment with DPE effective April 1.

Shaw, 51, has served in a variety of business and functional management positions that have incorporated marketing, manufacturing, financial and human resources responsibilities.  She previously led the DuPont Teijin Films joint venture and the DuPont Global Services Business.  She joined DuPont in 1977.

Lewis, 62, joined DuPont in 1965 and has held a number of management assignments in the automotive finishes and polymers areas in the U.S., Europe and Asia.  He joined the DuPont Dow Elastomers joint venture as President and CEO in September 2003 and continued in that role when the joint venture became a DuPont subsidiary in July 2005.

DuPont Performance Elastomers, a global supplier of specialty elastomers with headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, USA, is a wholly owned subsidiary of DuPont.   The company is an industry leader in chloroelastomers and fluorinated elastomers, serving the automotive, chemical, petrochemical, semiconductor, food and pharmaceutical processing, construction, general rubber and wire and cable industries.
