The increased outlook for earnings in the first quarter reflects improved operating performance by many DuPont businesses, partly offset by weaker market conditions in Europe and unfavorable currency trends.
John R. “Jack” Lewis, president and CEO, will retire April 1, 2006 after 40 years of total service with DPE and DuPont. He will be succeeded by Francine C. Shaw, vice president – DuPont Corporate Operations, who accepts employment with DPE effective April 1.
