DuPont Community Fund Supports Elementary School in Vietnam

Vietnam, March 15, 2007

DuPont Vietnam recently donates the basic facility for clean water storage tanks, 3 sets of computer and audio and visual equipment to Tam Hiep Elementary School in Tien Giang Province, 70 kilometers north from Ho Chi Minh City. The donation, with the support of 2006 DuPont Community Fund and DuPont Crop Protection Business, aims to alleviate the school’s problem on the shortage of daily water consumption for the teachers and school children, as well as to enhance education through the modern educational facilities.

“Dupont Vietnam’s donation has met our real and urgent demands. The set of facility has contributed to decrease difficulties in normal lives and education of Tam Hiep students and teachers. The school has 560 students so demands of clean and hygienic drinking water are too high. While the computerized system will benefit us to discover outside world on education research,” said Mr. Le Kim Ngan, the principal of the school.

Mr. Le Dat Thanh, General Manager of DuPont Vietnam Ltd. said that “Tam Hiep Elementary school locates at Tam Hiep village where DuPont Crop Protection has the operation. We have realized the problem of the village and school on insufficient water source. This program has enhanced healthier and educated lives of local people.”
