DuPont Vietnam Builds Green Community

DuPont Vietnam promotes green awareness & initiatives together with the community in Lam Village, Nam Dinh, a key agricultural province of northern Vietnam, by planting trees along the main village road to the rice farms and at the local school. The tree planting program aims to build a sustainable community while reducing environmental footprint.

The program represents collaboration of DuPont Vietnam, Nam Dinh Plant Protection Department (PPD), local authority, farmers, teachers, and school students.

Farra Siregar, Managing Director of DuPont Vietnam said, “We initiated the Tree Planting Program here in Nam Dinh as part of our continued commitment to our core values and sustainable growth in Vietnam. The collaboration among PPD, Lam community and DuPont has made the program more meaningful and represents the sustainable efforts of the entire community.  We are proud and pleased to contribute to community development in Vietnam.”

“Additionally, this program helps to raise a sense of awareness and responsibility among younger generations for voluntary initiatives in protecting their community and environment.”

Tran Van Hoi, Head of Nam Dinh Plant Protection Department said “We are very pleased to support this valuable program initiated by DuPont as farmers in the Village will have a chance to live in a better environment.”

“Lam Village community is delighted to join DuPont and Nam Dinh PPD in making the program successful and sustainable. These trees will provide a number of direct benefits to our community economically, socially and environmentally.” said Duong Manh Viet, Lam Village Committee Leader.

The ceremony took place in the middle of the rice farms in Lam Village. It was well participated by over 200 community members and a group of DuPont Vietnam employees in Hanoi office.
