DuPont Vietnam Collaborates with Thanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Launching Rice Model Farm Program

DuPont Vietnam, the leading science company, in collaboration with Thanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), announces the launch of Rice Model Farm Program to enhance farmers on how to achieve sustainable farming practices for hybrid rice production, with an excellent crop yield.

Hsing Ho, DuPont ASEAN Managing Director, said “At DuPont, we believe there is a science to feeding the world. We have ongoing collaborations all around the world with governments and public organizations, bringing new innovations and local solutions to help local farmers increase their crop yields in a sustainable manner. The Rice Model Farm Program is set to demonstrate how DuPont agricultural solutions can make difference and improve farmers’ livelihood in Vietnam.”

Sittideth Sriprateth, DuPont Vietnam Managing Director said, “Through the Rice Model Farm Program, DuPont is committed to transfer integrated crop management and hybrid rice farming technologies including seed selection, soil health management, pest management, water management, nutrient management, sustainable farming practices, harvesting and post-harvesting, for key farmers in Tho Xuan District, Thanh Hoa province.”

“We provide the farmers with a series of farm demonstrations and trainings at the Model Farm throughout the farming cycle until harvesting to ensure optimized yields while maintaining environmental stewardship and safety. DuPont also supplies the participating farmers with our Pioneer® brand hybrid rice seeds and DuPont crop protection products as part of the key farming tools.” Sittideth added.

Mai Ba Luyen, Vice Director of Thanh Hoa DARD, said “Agriculture is the key component of Vietnam’s food security and self-sufficiency plans for the future. To meet agricultural productivity challenges, public and private sectors must work together to achieve sustainable solutions for food security. Thanks to DuPont for their great contribution in transferring agricultural technologies that help deliver higher crop yields. I believe our farmers in Thanh Hoa will benefit greatly from this program.”

The Rice Model Farm Program is organized at two Model Farms of 5 hectares each in two different villages in Tho Xuan District, Thanh Hoa province.

DuPont Vietnam works alongside with local governments and communities to educate over 75,000 farmers every year on advanced agronomic practices and safe use of crop protection.
