Photographic Chemicals

(Monomethylamine)

P-methylaminophenol sulfate, used as a photographic developer, is made by using monomethylamine to replace an hydroxyl group on hydroquinone.

N-methyl acetoacetamide, used as a coupling agent for pigment manufacture, is produced from MMA and diketene.

MDEA (see Gas and Oil Treatment) has a growing use in making other photographic chemicals.
