Resin Manufacturing

(Di- and Trimethylamine)

Methylamines are used to make resins for water demineralization and deionization.

Cationic exchange resins are made from trimethylamine reacted with chloromethylated polystyrene-divinyl benzene copolymers.

Anionic resins are made from adding dimethylamine and hydrochloric acid to melamine formaldehyde condensation products.
