About the Organizers

The first corporate name of Runtal Italia was Avankalor Original Runtal; the company was established by Pierangelo Monzani in 1984 in Monza, Milan. It soon gained a foothold in the market as an innovative company which could highlight quality of materials used through a reference design featuring dynamic, clean lines supported by leading-edge technology. Steel is a classic material for almost all Runtal heating bodies which meet the requirements of an essentially formal and functional design thanks to a minimum amount of water inside each heating element and energy-saving features, under the banner of immediate heating in tune with current tangible needs. We might say that design and technology are a must which accompanies company’s evolution, identified by products that are real icons of today’s household scenarios. In 1986, the company’s corporate name was changed to Runtal Italia, marketing the products of its Swiss parent company as sole agent for Italy, from the first towel warmer to tailor-made radiators, two products that were the symbol of innovation and opened the way to present wide-scale consumption in this country.
At the close of 1988, the parent company Runtal established in 1953 by Egon Runte and architect Alther from Zürich, was taken over by Zehnder Group, the Swiss manufacturer of steel radiators operating in 32 countries. This strengthened Zehnder’s position as a market leader. Well acquainted with market trends and a versatile businessman with a strong feeling for design and love of that which is beautiful alongside technological development, in 1988 Pierangelo Monzani joined Zehnder Group as a managing partner. He then established Zehnder Italia, which soon became the second manufacturer in the area of tailor-made radiators and towel warmers. Soon after, in 1991, the company was relocated to Pozzo d’Adda, near Milan, and in 2001, to its final headquarters at Lallio, near Bergamo.
In the meantime, Zehnder Holding had taken over other companies such as Faral, a manufacturer of aluminium radiators, which joined the Group in 1998. Faral can boast top efficiency, good intrinsic quality and good economic value. Earlier, in 1994, Acova, a French manufacturer of heating bodies, had been taken over.
At present, in Italy the core business features high quality through a wide range of products focused on three reference targets: Runtal, a choice product range for architects and designers; Zehnder, mainly applying to heat engineers and installation technicians; Faral, the ideal manufacturer for large supplies to building yards and new buildings.
Zehnder Group’s world production amounts to 2 million heating bodies per year; Italy ranks third among beneficing countries. Zehnder Group’s consumer money market accounts for 400 million Euros; 70 million Euros is Italy’s turnover. The products are distributed through a country-wide network of 1,500 dealers supported by about 20 technical-trading assistance centers in all regions.
