Executive Biography
Brian Edwards is the Canadian Country Manager for DuPont Performance Coatings and has responsibility for the Automotive, Refinish and Industrial coatings businesses in Canada for the E. I. du Pont Canada Company.
His career with DuPont began in 1976 as a technical representative for the Dacron® polyester fibre business. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Edwards held the position of Application Chemist for the DuPont Performance Coatings business. In 1978, he relocated to DuPont Canada’s Kingston, Ontario, Manufacturing Site as a Technical Service Representative for the Industrial Fibres business. Two years later, he was promoted to a Sales and Marketing role.
In 1985, Mr. Edwards transferred to the Maitland, Ontario, Manufacturing Site as the Lycra® Organizational Effectiveness Resource and Leader of Site Laboratory Services.
From 1988 to 1996, Mr. Edwards worked for the Liquid Packaging business, first as US Market Development Representative, then as US National Sales & Service Manager and later was promoted to Market Development Venture Manager for Central America & Caribbean.
In 1998, Mr. Edwards led the initiative to implement Marketing and market development best practices across the company, conceptualizing and creating the DuPont Canada Marketing Company.
In 2002 he was promoted to Refinish Business Manager for the DuPont Performance Coatings business. He was named to his current assignment in 2007.
Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Mr. Edwards graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a BSC in Honours Chemistry PhD.
Mr. Edwards currently lives in Mississauga with his wife Shelley, son McKenzie and daughter Madison.
