Business Manager of Oil and Gas, DuPont Canada
Mr. El-Borno joined DuPont in 2011 as Innovation Ventures Leader in the Oil & Gas Market Facing Unit (MFU) and assumed leadership of the MFU in September 2013. As Business Manager, his mandate is to lead the MFU in delivering DuPont science solutions to the Canadian oil and gas industry.
Mr. El-Borno brings extensive technical capabilities and strategic business growth expertise in oil and gas, process and water treatment and advanced equipment technologies. Prior to joining DuPont, Mr. El-Borno’s career included technical sales and business development leadership roles at Nalco, GE Water & Process Technologies, and Champion Technologies.
An active supporter of industry associations, Mr. El-Borno is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Canadian Heavy Oil Association where he is a member of the Environmental Committee. He is also a member of the Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology, as well as Engineers Without Borders Canada.
Born in Kuwait, Mr. El-Borno graduated with honors in 1995 from the University of Jordan with a BSc in Chemical Engineering. He completed his Executive MBA with honors in 2011 with the Centre for Innovative Management at Athabasca University and was a Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship Awardee. Mr. El-Borno is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
