Executive Biography

John R. Elder is the Canadian Business Director for Advanced Fibre Solutions, Engineered Nonwoven Structures, DuPont Personal Protection and the DuPont Safety Resources Businesses. He is also Chairman of the Board of Brookdale International, an E.I. du Pont Canada Company, located in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Mr. Elder began his career in 1970 at DuPont Canada’s Maitland, Ontario, Manufacturing Site as a Production Control Analyst. Since then he has held various assignments within Manufacturing, Finance, Sourcing, Information Technology and Sales & Marketing at several DuPont Sites located at Maitland, Kingston, Montreal, Toronto and Mississauga.

Since 1997, Mr. Elder has been a member of the DuPont Canada Senior Leadership Team and has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Canadian Textile Institute and on the Federal Government’s Sectorial Advisory Group on International Trade for Textile Products.

Born in Canada, Mr. Elder is a graduate in Industrial Management and Business Administration, from St. Lawrence College of Applied Arts and Technology and the McGill University Management Institute.

Mr. Elder is currently based and resides in Mississauga, Ontario with his wife Debra and one daughter.
