Ernest A. Tuckett is General Counsel of DuPont Canada as of June, 2012.
Mr. Tuckett is a member of the DuPont Canada’s corporate leadership team and the chief legal counsel to the company. Prior to his current role, Mr. Tuckett was Corporate Counsel in DuPont’s Legal Department serving as commercial counsel supporting DuPont’s Crop Protection business platform. Before that, he served for four years as labor and employment counsel for DuPont in the United States.
Mr. Tuckett also served as the 2009-10 Chair of the DuPont Legal Minority Counsel Network, and Project Coordinator of DuPont Legal’s Street Law Pipeline Diversity Project which DuPont administers at Howard High School of Technology in Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Tuckett served on the Board of Delaware Futures, Inc., a Delaware non-profit that provides academic support to disadvantaged high school students, and boasts a greater than 80 percent college matriculation and graduation rate among its students.
Prior to joining DuPont, Mr. Tuckett was Counsel at the law firm of Arent Fox, PLLC, in Washington, D.C. where he spent 10 years as part of that firm’s litigation and employment practice groups. Mr. Tuckett has litigated many cases, including employment matters, contract disputes, fair housing cases, and trademark matters, and he has served as first and second chair at several trials. While at Arent Fox, Mr. Tuckett served on the firm’s Hiring Committee, Associates Committee, and Diversity Committee.
Mr. Tuckett received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, and he graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in American Government. He is admitted to the New York State Bar and District of Columbia Bar, and he is a member of the Delaware Bar (authorized for In-House practice only).
