DuPont Indonesia, a subsidiary of E.I. DuPont of USA, established its representative office in Indonesia in 1975. Based in Wilmington, Delaware, the Company has delivered science-based solutions and innovations in electronics, automotive, aerospace, health, food, construction, and safety. There are 24 business units in Indonesia with DuPont key businesses in agriculture, crop protections products, safety consultancy, packaging & Industrial Polymer, Titanium Technologies, powder coatings an refinishes, and Nonwovens.
PT DuPont Agricultural Products Indonesia (DAPI), established in 1993 in partnership with Maspion. There are two manufacturing facilities: one in Sidoarjo and one in Pasuruan, East Java for the formulations of crop protection products such as Ally® herbicide for control of weeds in rice, oil palm and rubber plantation; Karmex® and Hyvar® herbicides for control of weeds in sugar cane and pineapple; Manzate® and Curzate® fungicides for control of diseases in vegetables and fruits. Newly launched is the scientific breakthrough, Prevathon® insecticide for string bean and chili. DAPI is supported by a R&D Facility in West Java. All two plants have received ISO 14001 accreditation for environment management systems. DAPI is a supply source for ASEAN and Australia markets.
PT Herbert Indonesia, which changed its company to PT DuPont Powder Coating Indonesia since 1 October 2001, came into DuPont family in March 1999 as a joint venture between Herberts (80%) and PT Propan Raya (20%). That was as a result of a global acquisition of the coatings subsidiary of Hoechst AG. Its factory and office is located in Cikarang, West Java. The manufacturing facility among others produces thermosetting powder coatings used for metal steel/aluminum/metal coating applications. Exports are made primarily to ASEAN countries, Australia, Taiwan and Sri Lanka. This unit has recently received ISO 9001 accreditation.
Pioneer Hi-Bred came to DuPont family since October 1999 as a result of global acquisition of Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc. This company produces hybrid corn and rice seed for animal feed. Pioneer business made additional investments to expand its manufacturing facility in producing rice hyrbrid seed in Malang.
PT Indonesia Teijin DuPont Films (Teijin 50.1% and DuPont 49.9%) is a result of a global merger between Teijin and DuPont in the manufacture of polyester films. The plant site is located in Cipondoh, Tangerang, West Java.
