DuPont India, recognizing the inter-dependence of social progress, economic success and environmental excellence is the first step to achieving community sustainability. DuPont supports social and welfare activities in local communities we operate in.

Since 1990, the DuPont Community Fund - has provided support projects worldwide. It is a grassroots program designed for and implemented at DuPont sites to support in improving the quality of life and enhance the vitality of communities.

In India, the DuPont Community Fund has supported the site community activities at Savli, Gujarat since 1998. These activities have focussed on improving the education faciity at the school and the village infrastructure of the surrounding villages.

In Madurai, employees support the village panchayat efforts to improve the education standards for the children.

DuPont India has been engaged in education initiatives including workshops on safety, science and nutrition in schools.

The employees of DuPont India have contributed to Prayas - sponsoring for few of their children to build a better and brighter future by supporting for their education, medical, clothing, food and shelter.

DuPont India has extended its support to SOS Children's Village of India's "family strengthening program". Under this program, it has adopted the education, nutrition and healthcare needs of 14 children at the village.

In 2007, DuPont India announced 2 community sustainable programs supported by the DuPont Community Fund grant.

Academy for Street & Working Children - to be set up the not-for-profit organization Humana People to People India. The propsed academy will run a rehabilitation and education program for 50 under-privileged children.

Education & Water - support to the local village community near the DuPont India plant at Savli providing hygienic school environment and access to pure drinking water to the villages.

DuPont also encourages individual employees to engage in voluntary work through a global Voluntary Employee Recognition Program, which recognizes the voluntary efforts of employees by giving grants to the agencies they

volunteer with.
