DuPont Singapore sponsors "Science in the Mall" for 7th year



DuPont is proud to be sponsoring again for the 7th year, the science educational program “Science in the Mall”. An initiative organized by Science Centre Singapore and supported by both Dupont and A*STAR (Agency For Science, Technology and Research), “Science in the Mall” makes science fun and easy, and readily entertaining in a neighborhood shopping mall. 

DuPont continual support towards ‘Science in the Mall’ stems from our belief that science is an integral and crucial part of everyday life. It is not something remote or academic. Through sponsoring “Science in the Mall”, DuPont hopes to enhance the general awareness of science, and to stimulate, encourage and nurture passion for scientific exploration in youth today.


Virtual ‘Science in the Mall’
Taking into consideration the virtual community at large, ‘Science in the Mall’ has also gone online! Users can visit the virtual exhibits, download the activity templates to work on, and play science-related quizzes and games online at the interactive website www.scienceinthemall.sg.

With this virtual version of “Science in the Mall”, DuPont hopes to be able to reach out to youths beyond the shores of Singapore and promote science to the regional community.



About ‘Science in the Mall’
“Science In The Mall” brings exhibits, science performances, demonstrations and hands-on activities to Singapore heartland shopping malls during the school holidays. It aims to engage families with children in simple hands-on science experiments and activities, and to encourage parents to be more actively involved in promoting their children’s interest in science.

The event is held twice annually during the June and November school holidays, each time over 3 consecutive days, usually from Fridays to Sundays. The first Science In The Mall event with the theme “X-ploring Science Magic!” was held from 12 to 15 June 2003, at Junction 8, Singapore. Over the years, Science In The Mall has reached out to more than 230,000 children, their families and the general public.
