Balvinder Singh Kalsi President, DuPont India
Balvinder Singh Kalsi is the president of DuPont India and chairman of the board of directors of E. I. DuPont India Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of DuPont in Wilmington, Del.
Under his leadership, DuPont India has emerged as one of the fastest growing strategic markets for DuPont globally. The company’s operations in India have been fast expanding with the opening up of the DuPont Knowledge Centre at Hyderabad.
Prior to his appointment as president in Dec 2005, Mr. Kalsi was the executive director of DuPont India, overseeing the companies Government and External Affairs activities, in addition to his business responsibilities of leading the Agricultural Products business and DuPont Liquid Packaging Systems. Under his leadership, the Agricultural Products business of DuPont India emerged as one of the fastest growing business unit, a significant contributor to DuPont India revenues and one of the key markets for the company’s agriculture business worldwide.
Mr. Kalsi joined DuPont in 1991 as director, Finance & Corporate Planning. He then assumed leadership of two high growth businesses in 1997, and became director - South Asia for Agricultural Products with additional responsibility of representing the Pioneer seed business in India.
Prior to joining DuPont, he began his professional career in 1981 with the Escorts Group of Companies and held various business development senior positions between 1981-1991.
Mr. Kalsi is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He is also a member of several industry associations.
