John W. (Bill) Mooney is vice president, Supply Chain – Pioneer Hi-Bred, Crop Protection, Nutrition & Health and Applied BioSciences.  Mr. Mooney joined DuPont in 1979 in Waynesboro, Va., as a field services engineer.

During his first 15 years with DuPont, he served in a variety of business management, operations, supply chain, finance, and technical roles in Fibers, Petrochemicals and Specialty Chemicals businesses.  In 1995, he was appointed site manager at Chambers Works in Deepwater, N.J., and served there through 1998.  Mr. Mooney is a certified Six Sigma Champion and was part of the Specialty Chemicals team that led DuPont’s initial deployment of Six Sigma™ in 1999.

In 2000, he transferred to Richmond, Va., as global director for Operations and Human Resources in DuPont Advanced Fiber Systems.  In 2004, he returned to Wilmington as operations group leader for DuPont Performance Materials.  In 2006 and 2007, Mr. Mooney served as the DuPont Operations Competency Leader where he led the effort to develop and deploy DuPont’s Production System.  In 2007, he became operations group leader for the Agriculture & Nutrition segment.  In July 2008 he was named vice president of Operations for DuPont Agriculture & Nutrition and DuPont Applied BioSciences. He was appointed to his current position in October 2009.

Mr. Mooney was born in East Orange, N.J.  He holds a bachelor of science and master of science degrees in Chemical Engineering and in 1992 completed a one-year assignment as a Sloan Fellow at Stanford University, where he earned a master of science degree in Management.
