Former Joint Venture Now Wholly Owned
TORRANCE, Cal., Aug. 23, 2005 – DuPont today announced that it has acquired 100 percent of DuPont Authentication Systems (DAS), a joint venture between DuPont and Keystone Technologies, LLC created in 2001. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
DAS provides its customers with complete overt, covert and forensic brand authentication and security systems built around its Izon™ deep, three-dimensional photopolymer based labels. Izon™ is widely regarded as the most secure overt technology available. DAS products and services are used worldwide by customers in the electronics, pharmaceuticals and consumer products industries seeking anti-counterfeiting and brand enhancement of their products, as well as government agencies that protect security documents, such as passports and personal IDs.
DAS will maintain and enhance its manufacturing facility in Logan, Utah where Izon™ products are produced. DAS will also invest in new capacity and capabilities throughout the supply chain to enable higher quality and consistency of products and services to its global customers. The acquisition is expected to strengthen production and sales services for DAS customers, and will allow for accelerated development of next generation products.

DuPont has a number of authentication capabilities throughout the company and this acquisition will help accelerate the integration of offerings to customers.
