Reynders Etiketten N.V is a manufacturers of self-adhesive labels. Established in 1956, in the past three decades it has steadily grown to one of Europe’s leading company in the field of self adhesive labels.

As part of their strategy to further improve the efficiency of their operations, Reynders Etiketten have installed the Belgium’s first, Cyrel® FAST digital system at their plant in Boechout. By installing the innovative Cyrel® FAST thermal system, Reynders Etiketten complements their in-house plate making which serves the traditional offset, letterpress, flexo, digital, screen print and hot foil printing techniques.

The Cyrel® FAST technology is developed by DuPont Packaging Graphics, a leading supplier of flexographic photopolymer printing plates and platemaking systems. Available for analogue and digital imaging systems, with a Shore A hardness of 60° to 75° - is ideal for flexible packaging, preprint applications as well as label and envelope printing and varnish applications.

Cyrel® FAST is an established technology that has been successfully used following its introduction in 2000. Since then, printers and trade shops have been discovering its many benefits, including simple, trouble-free operation.

Following digitally or conventional imaging, a plate is fed into the Cyrel® FAST processor where it is heated while revolving on a drum in contact with a non-woven fabric. The infra-red heater melts the unexposed photopolymer, which is absorbed by the fabric, during 8 – 12 revolutions of the drum. The fully automatic process is repeated to give a clean plate to a relief depth.

Plates are press-ready from the processor in twenty minutes and require no drying time. Once used, the non-woven fabric requires no special handling or transport and may be safely disposed of in landfill or by incineration.

In addition to the obvious advantages of an environmental system, the Cyrel® FAST technology brings many benefits: the need for solvent storage, handling and disposal is completely eliminated.

There are also many production advantages of using DuPont™ Cyrel® FAST technology. Increased production speed means increased production capacity. Plate remakes are quickly achieved without major disruption to schedules.
