Pier Luigi Sassanelli, Marketing Communications and Brand Manager, DuPont Packaging Graphics Europe MEA, announced the selection of the jury for the 7th International Grand Prix Cyrel®.

The members of the Jury for 2006 awards are Wolfgang Klos-Geiger, co-owner and editor of G&K TechMedia, Germany; Mrs Lesley Hide, Managing Director EFTA, UK; Fabrizio Monetti, Packaging Artwork Director Ferrero Publiregia, Italy; Prof. Xu Wencai, Dean of Printing and Packaging Engineering Department, Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, China and Roza Altin, Packaging Development Manager, UNILEVER, Turkey.

"DuPont is honoured by such outstanding jurors who themselves are world-renowned experts and recognised specialists," said Pier Luigi Sassanelli, who coordinates the activities around the events.

The International Grand Prix Cyrel® is presented every 4 years by DuPont in partnership with OEM companies.

Wolfgang Klos-Geiger, President and Jury Chair, is currently co-owner, with his wife Jutta M. Geiger, of the company G&K TechMedia GmbH, which is now publishing five magazines with world-wide distribution, has produced some books and maintains a web-site on the internet (http://www.flexo.de). Previously he was working for some publishing houses in Germany, where he was involved in the management of the international advertising business and of building-up new divisions. Wolfgang Klos-Geiger is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars (e.g. in Thailand, China, Taiwan and India). He has also served as judge in a number of international print competitions.

Lesley Hide is Managing Director of the EFTA in the UK. She has over 30 years experience in the Packaging and Print industry having joined British Cellophane Limited in 1976 after graduating from the University of Bath. (Whilst with) She then moved to Courtaulds where she studied for an MBA at Cranfield School of Management. Lesley Hide held a number of management positions in Courtaulds Packaging and then with D S Smith prior to joining the EFTA in 2001.

Fabrizio Monetti is head of the packaging artwork team within Ferrero Publiregia (house agency of Ferrero group) since 2000. He graduated at Turin University in economy and has built up his career in Ferrero Group, with a variety of different assignments within Italy and Europe, specializing in marketing and packaging of food. His responsibilities cover all the creation of new packaging solutions from the concept artwork to the final layout. He controls the final printing process of all packaging material made in Ferrero’s worldwide manufacturing sites, to ensure consistency with the original.

Prof. Xu Wencai is Dean of Printing and Packaging Engineering Department at Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, Director of the Printing & Packaging Material and Technology Laboratories – Beijing Area Major Laboratory and Chief Editor of "Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication Journal". His expertise is internationally recognized and was awarded (in) on several occasions. He has published more than 60 papers in academic magazines and at international academic conferences. He compiled and published 6 textbooks and, as chief editor, he published the textbook for the national Tenth Five-year Plan of China book "Packaging Printing and Post-press". Prof. Xu Wencai Graduated and completed his Masters Degree at Xi’an University of Technology. Later he improved his printing and packaging technology knowledge at the Stuttgart Institute of Graphic Communication in Germany.

Roza Altin is Packaging Development Manager at Unilever in Turkey. She gained a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science (on CFD) at the Middle East Technical University Aeronautical Engineering Department. She joined Unilever in1999 and now also leads the team that develops innovative and cost effective packages. She personally created the 3D design of many packages including the Pack Fair (Dusseldorf, Germany) award winner Lux liquid wash.

Finalists for the 7th International Grand Prix Cyrel® are all the winners of the 14 Local 2005 Grand Prix Cyrel®, the winners of the 2005 E-FTA, 2005 FlexoTech and 2006 FTA awards using Cyrel® plates.

The nominees for each category will be announced during autumn 2006 while the winners will be announced at the award ceremony in spring 2007.
